Another Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

So, albeit a bit of a quiet one, my Christmas & New Year was quite nice in the end. Good to have a break.

As for Fleabag, all is ticking along nicely. After day 1 of broadcast, we got some viewing figures in which by all accounts, were very good! This is brill news and we have been getting great feedback in general and there's a lovely buzz going around about the show.

It continues to air on CITV at 4.30 & 4.45pm, Monday - Friday on a repeat basis until the next lot of new episodes come along - watch this space!

Anyway, here's hoping that 2012 will be a good year for all!

Singing ooo baby, ooo

Soooooooooooooooooo we had a works doo last night which involved studio beers, curry, pub beers then karaoke & more beers!!! It was seriously top bosh. THE best night out I have had in a very long time in fact. It was great to get everyone oot & just let wor hair down!

Aside from drunken singing, things are good at work. Everything is full steam ahead & we are seeing some lovely stuff coming through - I'm pretty excited about it all! Can't wait to see the first show aired. And yes, sadly, I am excited about getting my first show credit! Even if it does whizz past on the screen!!!

Anyway, I'll leave you with this picture of Turner singing his heart out to a song that no body seemed to know... I couldn't even name it like..

Victoria Baths

Here are some pictures of Victoria Baths where I visited recently for a guided tour.

Such an amazing building and such a shame that there is so little help for it to get back on it's feet as a working Swimming and Turkish baths. I would certainly go there if it re-opened and if I am rich enough one day, I will donate all the money they need to get re-opened!!

If you are interested in the history of the baths and want to see what goes on there, visit their website:

www.victoriabaths.org.uk

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did visiting the building.

Whadup

Hello,

Long time no bloggy.

Been busy searching out some more work etc. as I have had a quiet period of late. Lets hope stuff gets under way soon! I still need to sort my website out too....

A friend introduced me to this:

Update

Just a general update with what I am up to etc.

I have now moved to Manchester where I am currently freelancing at an Animation Studio called Kilogramme. I recently did some ink and paint on a commerical for a campaign relating to rogue traders and distraction burglars. See the link below for the finished article - the animation is really lovely

http://coldhardflash.com/2010/06/kilogramme-fires-up-flash-for-cold-caller-psa.html

I am currently working on some other After Effects based stuff for Kilogramme too.

As for other stuff I have been up to, I am going to be doing some mobile arts stuff throughout summer with a social enterprise company called Youth Discovery Ventures. This should be quite fun as it will involve working with young people of varying ages to do creative activities ranging from making peg people through to painting pet rocks!

As for architecture photographs, I have seen lots of buildings in Manchester that I would like to take pictures of but just haven't found the time yet! Soon though hopefully!

My website is still work in progress but once I have regular (and faster!) access to the internet, I will be able to get this up and running properly.

That's all for now and thanks for reading.

The Dunston Rocket

Derwent Tower, nicknamed the Dunston Rocket, was designed by the Architect Owen Luder (who also designed the Trinity Square "Get Carter" Car Park) and was built from 1968 to completion in 1971. As the name suggests, it is based in Dunston in Gateshead. The rocket was built for housing but since 2007, has stood unoccupied due to its deteriorating condition and health and safety concerns.

I found this place quite remarkable. Deemed as ugly by most (understandably), it really is an impressive structure. It is though, unfortunately, quite a wreck; the concrete and bricks haven't aged well at all and it is covered in pigeon droppings and litter. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed taking the photographs and felt it was quite serene considering its Brutalist nature.

I hope you enjoy. I did.
